A brief biography

Henry Risbridger


Son of William Risbridger and Mary Ann Brodie. .

Born in Kilburn, London in 1880, the forty-third year of the reign of Queen Victoria, and died aged forty-five in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire in the sixteenth year of the reign of King George V  He has 25 direct descendants in the family.

From Kilburn to Sutton Coldfield


Born at 19 Salisbury Road, Kilburn. His father was then a carpenter and so was his eldest brother Emery.

After he got married times were hard in London so he and his brother George walked from London to Birmingham, finally arriving and settling in Sutton Coldfield.

Henry worked for the London Midland and Scottish Railways as a carter. During WWI he joined the Royal Engineers (Railway Battalion) and served with them in the Crimea, notably around Baku. He suffered badly from malaria which undoubtedly affected his heart for after the war whilst working for the railways once more he suffered a heart attack and died. [CR]
