Although there is no published history of the Risbridger family, several relatives have dedicated their time to compiling ancestral records.

The Risbridger Family

Henry Joseph Risbridger's 36-page document was the culmination of many years of research into the family, at a time before the internet when you relied on the knowledge of librarians, archivists and the memories of the older generation.

Thanks to his background as an architect he also drew up a beautifully handwritten family tree, which also happened to be the inspiration behind this website.

He was ably assisted by Penny Owain Jones who went on to become a genealogist and has contributed a lot of material and assistance to the Risbridger Collection.

The Risbridger Story

Cyril Risbridger's research was re-discovered in 2019. Cyril spent much time after his retirement researching into the Risbridger family. As this was in the era before the internet, it was some time before he crossed paths with Henry Risbridger, and helped Henry with his research.

Cyril based the ancestry of his own branch of the family on Henry's research and expanded it considerably, however his final document was distributed to just a handful of members of the family so remained unknown.

This document has now been transcribed and annotated, and is available in the Books section of the Library

Culshaw & Risbridger Family Links

Indira and Murray Culshaw have researched the various branches of the family over the last decades and this includes the Risbridger branch, privately printed in 2011.
