The Asylum


In the 1930 US Census he was recorded as an inmate of the Michigan Home and Training School, where he was a Kitchen helper. This was previously named the Michigan Home for the Feeble-Minded and Epileptic and was one of the largest asylums in the country. 2,336 people were sterilized at the Home as a result of state policy.
