Born in Godstone, Surrey in 1862, the twenty-fifth year of the reign of Queen Victoria.


Emma worked as a domestic servant for the Hemsley family in London and at Ivy Cottage in Margaretting, Essex, before marrying William Risbridger in Bletchingley in 1886.
