Sydney Risbridger


Son of Robert Risbridger and Sarah A Risbridger. .

Born in Shamley Green, Surrey in 1882, the forty-fifth year of the reign of Queen Victoria, and died aged eighty-four in Andover, Hampshire in the fifteenth year of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II  He has 2 direct descendants in the family.

Hampshire Police


Sydney moved his family from Bramley to Hampshire to join the Hampshire Police, as he was half an inch too small to join the Surrey Police.
He worked at Portsmouth Naval Dockyard during WWI then on to Donley Common Sholing near Southampton and finally settled in The Cottage, Park Lane, Twyford where he was the village policeman.
He was a good cricketer and turned out for the Police & Twyford Cricket Club.
