Ada Butland

Born in 1870, the thirty-third year of the reign of Queen Victoria.

Kensington

32 Loveridge Road

Ada Butland was born in 1877 in Kensington, daughter of plasterer Robert Butland. Emily Butland was a witness at their marriage in St Cuthbert's Church in Hampstead in 1897 so might have been her mother. Ada (#32) and William (#24) were neighbours in Loveridge Road, Hamsptead.

In the 1911 census they were living in Paddington with two children, Ada Charlotte and William Henry. Cross-referencing this with the research by Cyril Risbridger (who did not have access to the 1911 census), we find that they had four children, two of whom died very young.

The first world war intervened and after it William reappeared in Kent and started a new family.
